Spotlight Artist: Luke Lightfoot

In 2019, my twin and I played a long distance game. I was in NYC, and he was in OKC. I had been playing with GIFs for awhile, and I had started to create collaged GIFs. I would message the animations to my twin, and he would put music to them and send them back. From that point on, I started incorporating music into my visual art.

In 2021, I attended a Synesthesia event in Brooklyn, and one of the artists showed a layered digital video. I thought I could do something similar and incorporate my digital art, GIFs, and drawings. So, I started doing that.

The following year, I met a filmmaker in NYC named MM Serra, who would drip acid on her video film and use other experimental techniques for visual effect. This made me curious to experiment with form and movement in my videos.
